We thought today would be a relaxing day with not much on the schedule. We slept in and then took our time at breakfast talking to lots of families. Then we set out to do our souvenir shopping. It was exhausting! Jodie had a blast at the shoe store and Brian took care of the kids there with no complaining. You see, he went golfing not once but twice in Kunming so in return Jodie got to shop for kids shoes in Guangzhou. We won't say how many shoes were purchased but it could have been a store record. Cheap, cheap shoes and all of them cost less then one golf trip! (Can you guess who's writing today's post?) We then went to a late lunch and continued our shopping adventures. If only you could just walk in and buy your items it would be quick, but the haggling takes twice as long. Tonight we went out to a night market on a pedestrian street. It was different then we expected at first with many higher end stores, until we were taken back to the famous "back alley's" to look for watches and purses. (If Mandy is reading this she is very familiar). Brian won again and found his watch that he has been looking for. The girls were very good all day, and managed to have a good time entertaining the store employees everywhere we went. They have so much fun together 98% of the time. It's when they both need a nap and both want mom at the same time that they act like true sisters!

Where did you find all the shoes and oh the cute clothes the girls have are just darling!
ReplyDeleteYour two girls are darling! Hope you get to buy more. We want to go back just to shop!

We found the shoes at sherry's. It is on a road that runs next to the park that runs through the middle of Shamian Island. Ask around and anyone will tell you where to find it. It's where everyone goes to get shoes. They have the best quality and most selection.
ReplyDeleteI thought I recognized Sherry's we bought like 20 pairs when we were there a year or so ago we love her shop.
ReplyDeleteI completely remember those back alley shopping trips. I wasn't sure we would come out alive! Your girls are both beautiful and I can't wait to see Meilin in real life. Good luck with the trip home--we'll be praying for you.
