Meilin's Finding Spot 11-24-09

On the way back from the orphanage we asked our guideand driver if we could locate her finding spot. They said they would try, there has been some relocating and remodeling in the area and so we drove around for a little bit, asked for some directions and finally found it. She was left in a small Sichuan restaurant on Dongjiao Lu (Rd) next to a night market. The restaurant was very small, and had about 7-8 tables. When we asked the owners about Meilin they remembered right away and gave us a lot information we didn't have. They said that on July 7th a young beautiful girl with whiter skin, about 20 yrs old, came and had dinner, she bought food that totaled about 20 RMB ($3 US), then on July 8th she came back for lunch sat down for a bit at table 2 and then asked the owner if she could hold her daughter while she went to wash her hands. The owner became nervous when she didn't return and after 5-6 hours she called the police. She said she was left with a note that had her birthday on it and a blanket. We took several pictures of the place, we tried to give the owner of the restaurant some money for sharing all of the info with us but she wouldn't take it and said she was so happy that she was placed with us so that we could take care of her and give her a good home. It was really neat to find her finding spot and talk with the owners there, they were so nice to us and you could tell they were happy Meilin was with us. We all sat down at table 2 and took a family picture!
